Noch mehr Stolpersteine
The Badische Zeitung had an article a few weeks ago about Marlis Meckel, the remarkable woman who initiated Freiburg's participation in the Stolperstein project seven years ago. In 2002, without the city's sanction, she laid down the first brass block, 62 years to the day after the deportation of a few hundred of Freiburg's Jews to Gurs. Freiburg now has 330 Stolpersteine.
